What is going on with recruitment of officers?
An extensive Recruitment Operational Plan (ROP) that has been developed by the Recruitment WPDG.  The ROP concentrates on four sectors to recruit officers: training institutions/programs (universities and colleges), private sector, prior service, and Federal civilian sector.

I’ve read in the Corps E-Bulletin that there are upcoming surveys that we will be asked to complete.  What are they, and why so many?
Office of Commissioned Corps Operations (OCCO)/Transformation has recently distributed an Assignment Support Survey that was sent to officers serving in isolated hardship and hazardous duty locations.  We will be distributing three more satisfaction surveys: New Officer, Periodic and Pre-Exit.  The New Officer Satisfaction Survey will be distributed to officers within 6 months of being called to active duty, the Periodic Satisfaction Survey will be distributed to officers who have been commissioned for 5, 10, 15, and 20 years, and the Pre-Exit survey will be distributed to those officers who have filed a 1373 (Separation Form).  These surveys will be ongoing, and we will be using the data to improve programs and services offered to commissioned officers.
